This policy explains what personal data CodeToolPilot (“we”, “us”) processes when you visit codetoolpilot.com, why, and what choices you have. It describes the site as it actually runs today; if that changes — for example if we add analytics — we will update this page first.
Summary
- We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
- Visitors do not create accounts, and comments are switched off.
- Like every website, our servers and our network provider process technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver pages and protect the site.
- If you email us, we use your message only to reply.
Data processed when you visit
Server logs. Our web server records standard access-log entries: IP address, date and time, requested page, response status, referring page and browser user-agent string. We use them to operate the site, troubleshoot errors and defend against abuse. Access logs are kept for up to 30 days and then deleted.
Content delivery and security. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes connection data (including IP addresses) to deliver pages quickly and to block malicious traffic. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies for that purpose. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Cookies. CodeToolPilot itself does not set cookies for readers. Apart from the security cookies described above, no cookies are used.
Links to other websites
Reviews link to vendors’ websites, and some of those links may be affiliate links. When you follow one, the destination site and any affiliate network may set their own cookies to record that you came from CodeToolPilot. Their privacy policies apply on their sites. See our affiliate disclosure.
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, your message and anything you choose to include. Messages sent to our address are forwarded to our inbox by Cloudflare Email Routing. We use it only to read and answer your message, and we delete correspondence when it is no longer needed.
Legal bases
Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we process server-log and security data on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure website, and email correspondence on the basis of our legitimate interest in replying to you.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal data. Data is shared only with the service providers that host and deliver the site, as described above, or where the law requires it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to a data-protection authority. To exercise these rights, use the contact page.
Children
This site is written for software professionals and is not directed at children.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
