Status update: Hostinger merged its Website Builder and Horizons into Hostinger AI Builder in August 2026. Wix launched Wix Harmony in January 2026. Durable now uses durable.com (durable.co redirects).
“AI website builder” now covers very different products. Some generate a starting site and hand you a normal visual editor. Some keep an AI agent in the editor for the life of the site. Others are really AI app builders that write a React codebase. Choosing well depends on knowing which kind you are buying, what the AI actually produces, and what you can change or take with you afterwards.
This roundup is for founders, freelancers and developers who want a marketing site, portfolio or small-business site built mostly by AI, and who want to understand the trade-offs before paying. It covers five products named in most searches for this topic: Framer, Wix (through Wix Harmony), Hostinger AI Builder, 10Web and Durable. For a broader comparison of SEO controls, performance features and flexibility across builders with or without AI, see our main website builder comparison.
This is an editorial research article based on each vendor’s product pages, pricing pages, help documentation and announcements, checked on October 17, 2026. We did not run our own benchmarks or generate test sites, so you will not find speed scores or output-quality ratings here.
Quick picks
- Framer — best for design-led marketing sites where an AI agent edits a real, layered design.
- Wix (Wix Harmony) — best for small businesses that want to start free and switch between an AI agent and drag-and-drop editing.
- Hostinger AI Builder — best for the lowest advertised monthly price with hosting included (on a 48-month prepaid term), and a route from drag-and-drop to prompt-built web apps.
- 10Web — best for people who want an AI-generated site that runs on WordPress and WooCommerce.
- Durable — best for local service businesses that want a site, CRM and bookings in one simple subscription.
How we chose
We did not lab-test these products. We compared them on documented facts: how the AI works (one-time generation versus an ongoing agent), what platform the output runs on, whether you can keep editing by hand, how AI usage is metered, what the plans cost and on what billing basis, and whether you can export the site or its code. We checked each claim against the vendor’s own pages and note where those pages are inconsistent.
Website builders versus AI app builders
A website builder hosts your pages on its platform and gives you a visual editor, templates and built-in SEO settings. An AI app builder writes application code, usually React, and often adds a database and user accounts. Products such as Lovable, Bolt.new and Vercel’s v0 belong to the second group: they are a better fit for logins, dashboards and internal tools than for a five-page business site. The line is blurring. Hostinger’s Agentic mode is an app builder inside a website-builder plan, and Wix also owns Base44, a separate vibe-coding app builder it acquired in 2025. This roundup focuses on tools whose main job is a website.
Framer
What it is. Framer is a design-first website builder with hosting, a CMS and localization. Its AI is an agent that works inside your project: Framer says it “creates editable pages, sections, copy, and visuals directly in your project”, and stresses that the output is editable layers, not “a fixed generated image or locked template”. The agent can also build custom code components from a description, review sites before publishing and manage CMS content. You can choose among several models (Framer’s AI page lists GPT, Sonnet, Opus and Fable), and Framer says external agents such as Claude Code, Cursor and Codex can connect to a project.
Best for. Designers, startups and marketers who want AI to speed up layout and copy while they keep final design control. Our full Framer review covers the editor and CMS in depth.
Notable limits. AI usage is metered in credits: 1,000 a month on Basic and 3,000 on Pro, plus 500 to try on a free workspace. Pricing is per site, and extra editors cost $20/month each. Framer’s help center states that it “does not offer HTML export for self-hosting”, so your site stays on Framer.
Starting price. Free on a Framer subdomain with 1 GB bandwidth. Basic is $10/month and Pro $30/month per site, shown with yearly billing selected; a complimentary domain comes with yearly billing. See Framer pricing
Wix (Wix Harmony)
What it is. Wix announced Wix Harmony on January 21, 2026 as its new flagship AI website builder, combining “vibe coding” with Wix’s visual editor. You describe a site, Wix’s AI agent Aria generates it, and you move between chatting with Aria and editing by hand. Wix says the AI “generates a complete site with industry-specific logic, tailored copy and high-quality visuals” and that you can “manually adjust any detail down to the last pixel”. Because the result is a normal Wix site, you get Wix’s business apps, SEO tools and payments.
Best for. Small businesses that want a free start and a single platform for site, bookings and store. Our Wix vs Squarespace comparison looks at Wix’s SEO controls and fees in more detail.
Notable limits. Harmony is still catching up with the classic editor: Wix’s help center says the Wix CMS, Multilingual and several other apps and elements are not yet available in Harmony, and existing Wix Editor sites cannot be migrated to it. Wix sites cannot be exported or hosted elsewhere.
Starting price. Wix says you can start building with AI for free; a Premium plan is needed for a custom domain and online payments. Premium plans start at $17/month (Light) on a yearly subscription paid upfront, excluding tax (US list prices, per Wix’s plans guide); payments start on Core at $29/month. See Wix plans
Hostinger AI Builder
What it is. In August 2026 Hostinger merged its drag-and-drop Website Builder and its Horizons vibe-coding tool into Hostinger AI Builder, with two modes. Manual mode generates a starting site from a single prompt and then hands you a drag-and-drop editor with AI writing, logo and SEO helpers. Agentic mode builds sites and web apps through chat, with a built-in backend, user accounts and Stripe payments, and lets you export the code as a React and Vite project. Every plan includes both modes plus hosting, a first-year domain and email.
Best for. Budget-conscious small sites, and people who might later need app features such as logins or a client portal without changing vendor. Our Hostinger AI Builder review covers Manual mode in detail.
Notable limits. Agentic mode spends AI credits on every chat action. The plan cards list a one-time gift of credits (250, 500 or 1,000), although Hostinger’s pricing FAQ refers to monthly AI credits, so confirm the allowance at checkout; Hostinger sells top-ups. Manual-mode sites cannot export their design, only pages, text and images to WordPress. Hostinger’s refund policy allows a refund on the AI Builder Agentic plan (formerly Horizons) within 30 days only if fewer than 30 AI credits have been used, and AI credits themselves are non-refundable.
Starting price. Premium is $2.99/month on a 48-month term paid upfront ($143.52), renewing at $10.99/month, excluding VAT. Hostinger also offers a free trial with no credit card required. See Hostinger AI Builder plans
10Web
What it is. 10Web calls itself “the agentic AI platform to build, host, and scale your websites”. You start from a prompt, a link or a file; a planner asks a few questions, shows the proposed pages, and builds the site after you confirm. Underneath is WordPress: 10Web’s pricing FAQ describes a full WordPress CMS, managed hosting and an editor based on Elementor, and stores use WooCommerce. You can keep editing through AI chat or a visual editor with drag-and-drop sections. Plans also include agents to redesign a page, recreate a page from a URL and convert Figma files.
Best for. Users who want AI speed but prefer to end up on WordPress, with its plugin ecosystem and familiar admin.
Notable limits. Plans cap websites, storage and monthly visitors (AI Starter: 1 site, 10 GB, 10K visitors, 100 AI credits a month). Cloudflare CDN is included only from AI Ultimate, and then for one website. Renewal terms are not stated on the pricing page. Use the cloning agent only on pages you have the rights to reuse.
Starting price. AI Starter is $10/month billed annually ($120 for 12 months), shown as 50% off a regular $20/month ($240 a year); a monthly-billing option is also offered. 10Web’s AI builder page mentions a 3-day free trial with 5 AI credits, and the 30-day money-back guarantee applies only until you claim the free domain. See 10Web pricing
Durable
What it is. Durable is an AI “business builder” for small service businesses. It generates a site and bundles a CRM, online bookings synced to your calendar, an AI blog generator, review requests, directory listings and AI agents for marketing tasks. Durable says sites are hosted on Cloudflare’s network. Its domain has moved from durable.co to durable.com, which now redirects.
Best for. Tradespeople, consultants and local service providers who want the website, lead capture and booking tools in one place and do not want to manage a design tool.
Notable limits. Durable describes itself as “no code” and says it does not “offer extensive options for HTML customization”. It is “not designed specifically” for ecommerce. Moving a custom domain away after cancelling takes “a couple of weeks” and is subject to a minimum subscription time that the FAQ does not specify.
Starting price. The Free plan gives a durable.site subdomain, 300 AI credits in total and a 10-customer CRM. Launch is shown at $25/month on the plan cards and $22/month in the comparison table, and Grow at $49 and $41; the page offers “Save 15%” with yearly billing but does not label which figure applies to which cycle, so confirm at checkout. See Durable pricing

How to choose
- If design quality is the priority, start with Framer: its agent edits a real design canvas, and you keep control of the details.
- If you want one platform for everything a small business runs, Wix’s breadth (bookings, store, SEO tools) matters more than the AI itself. Harmony is the AI-first way into it.
- If the monthly price is the constraint, Hostinger has the lowest advertised monthly price here, but only with a four-year prepayment ($143.52 upfront); compare the renewal price with Wix and Framer over the same period.
- If you want to end up on WordPress, 10Web gives you AI generation on a WordPress and WooCommerce base.
- If you run a local service business and want leads and bookings handled, Durable bundles those tools, at the cost of design and code flexibility.
- If you need logins, a database or an internal tool, you probably want an AI app builder instead; see our Replit review alongside Lovable, Bolt.new and v0. Our guide to builders, WordPress and custom code explains where each approach fits.
Whatever you pick, check the export story before you invest weeks of content. Of the five, only Hostinger’s Agentic mode documents a code export, and only 10Web runs on an open-source CMS.
Bottom line
The AI in these builders mostly saves time at the start: a first draft of pages, copy and images in minutes. What you live with afterwards is the platform underneath. In our assessment, Framer and Wix offer the most capable editing once the AI has done its part, Hostinger is the budget option with an app-building escape hatch, 10Web is the WordPress route, and Durable is the most hands-off for service businesses. Try the free plan or trial first, and judge the platform, not just the first generated draft.
