Status update: On August 18, 2026 Hostinger merged its Website Builder and Hostinger Horizons into Hostinger AI Builder; the drag-and-drop builder is now AI Builder's Manual mode and Horizons became Agentic mode. Hostinger still describes the drag-and-drop product as a website builder on its product pages.
Hostinger AI Builder, sold as Hostinger Website Builder until August 2026, is the site builder that comes bundled with Hostinger’s hosting plans. Its drag-and-drop editor is aimed at people who want a simple business site, portfolio, blog or small store online quickly and cheaply, with hosting, a domain and email in one bill. Developers usually meet it in a different way: a client or family member asks for “a cheap website”, and you need to know whether this builder is a sensible thing to hand over or a trap you will be asked to migrate later.
2026 changed what the product is. In August, Hostinger merged its Website Builder and its Horizons vibe-coding tool into one product called Hostinger AI Builder. The classic drag-and-drop editor is now AI Builder’s “Manual mode”, and the prompt-driven app builder is “Agentic mode”. This review covers the drag-and-drop builder as it stands today, explains where Agentic mode fits, and looks closely at promotional pricing, renewals and how hard it is to move a site off Hostinger. For the wider market, see our comparison of website builders by SEO controls, performance features and flexibility.
This is an editorial research review. It is based on Hostinger’s product and pricing pages, its support articles, its refund policy and its launch announcement, all checked on October 17, 2026. We did not run our own benchmarks or speed tests.
Quick verdict
Among the builders we cover, Hostinger AI Builder has the lowest advertised monthly price for a hosted, editable website with a custom domain and email. The editor covers the basics well and includes AI writing, logo and SEO helpers. The headline price, though, requires paying for 48 months upfront, and renewal costs about three to four times as much. The bigger issue for anyone thinking long-term is portability: Manual-mode sites can move only their pages, text and images to WordPress, and code export exists only in Agentic mode. In our assessment it is a reasonable fit for small, simple sites you expect to keep on Hostinger, and a weak fit for anything that may outgrow a template.
- Pro: Low entry price that includes hosting, a free domain for the first year and mailboxes.
- Pro: AI tools for copy, logos, blog posts, product descriptions and SEO metadata are built into the editor.
- Pro: The same plan also runs WordPress, and a path to Agentic mode exists if you later need app features or code.
- Pro: Hostinger advertises 0% transaction fees on store sales.
- Con: The $2.99/month price needs a 48-month prepayment, and the plan renews at $10.99/month.
- Con: Manual-mode sites cannot export layouts, styles, the store, forms or SEO settings.
- Con: Documented SEO controls are basic: there is no mention of a redirect manager, robots.txt editing or structured-data settings.
- Con: Hostinger’s own pages give inconsistent template counts and ecommerce plan details, so you need to check at checkout.
What is Hostinger AI Builder?
Hostinger AI Builder is the site builder from the web hosting company Hostinger. Its Manual mode is the drag-and-drop editor previously sold as Hostinger Website Builder. You start from a template or a short description of your business, the builder generates a first version, and you refine it in a visual editor. Hosting, SSL and a sitemap are handled for you.
Since Hostinger’s August 18, 2026 announcement, the builder lives inside Hostinger AI Builder. Hostinger’s FAQ describes AI Builder as the result of “merging our website builder and Horizons into a single builder with two modes”: Manual for drag-and-drop editing and Agentic for vibe coding. Hostinger says existing projects “will continue to work as they do today.” Its refund policy now calls the Agentic plan “formerly Hostinger Horizons”.
Two practical consequences follow. First, buying a builder plan gets you both modes. Second, the builder plans are Hostinger’s web hosting plans: the general pricing page lists the same three plans at the same prices, with storage, backups, a CDN and WordPress. If you already have an active Hostinger hosting plan, Hostinger says AI Builder is already included. Our separate Hostinger review for developers covers the hosting side, including VPS and Git deploys.
Key features
Drag-and-drop editor (Manual mode)
The editor has Elements, Pages and Styles panels. Styles sets global colors, text, buttons and animations, and you can override any element. You can publish just the homepage while other pages are still in progress. One quirk is documented in Hostinger’s guide: changes on desktop “are not automatically applied to the mobile version”, so element order on mobile has to be managed separately.
AI tools
Manual mode includes an AI Logo Maker, AI Writer, AI Blog Generator and an AI assistant that can update page SEO metadata. Hostinger also describes AI product pages (titles, descriptions and images from a description of what you sell) and AI image generation. According to Hostinger’s AI Builder FAQ, Manual mode does not consume AI credits; credits are spent in Agentic mode, where each chat action uses them.
Blog, store and multilingual sites
The blog supports drafts, scheduled posts and categories. A Store panel turns on Hostinger Ecommerce for physical or digital products, services and print-on-demand, with orders, inventory, shipping and taxes in one dashboard. Additional languages can be added from the editor’s More panel.
SEO settings
Per page you can set meta titles, descriptions, URLs and keywords, and hide pages from search engines. An AI SEO Assistant drafts titles and descriptions for you to approve, alt text is set in image settings, product SEO is managed in product settings, and sitemaps “are handled automatically”. Hostinger’s SEO settings guide does not mention 301 redirects, robots.txt editing, canonical controls or structured data, so do not assume they exist.
Integrations and custom code
Built-in integrations include Google Analytics, Hotjar and WhatsApp, and Hostinger’s marketing pages list Google Ads and Meta Pixel. A Custom code field injects scripts into the page head, and embed elements place code in the body. Hostinger says integrations are limited in Manual mode and recommends Agentic mode for anything API-heavy.
Agentic mode as an upgrade path
Agentic mode builds sites and web apps from chat, with a built-in backend, user accounts, Stripe payments and a code editor. Its code export produces “a Node.js project built with React and Vite”. For sites created on or after September 21, 2026, Hostinger says Agentic sites use server-side rendering, and a sitemap and robots.txt are generated for sites with a custom domain.
Who should use Hostinger AI Builder
It suits small businesses, freelancers and individuals who want a brochure site, portfolio, link-in-bio page or small shop at low cost, and who are happy to commit to Hostinger for several years. It also suits anyone who already pays for Hostinger hosting, since the builder is included. For a developer setting up a site for a non-technical client, it is a defensible choice when the site is simple and the client values one bill and one support desk over flexibility.
Who should skip Hostinger AI Builder
Skip it if you need fine SEO control (redirect rules, structured data, robots directives), a structured CMS for many content types, or a clean exit path. Skip it, too, if you dislike long prepaid terms: the advertised price only applies to a four-year upfront payment. Designers who want precise layout control will likely be happier with a design-first builder, and stores with complex catalog needs are better served by a dedicated ecommerce platform.
Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- Bundled value. Hosting, a first-year domain, mailboxes, SSL and a CDN come in one plan.
- Two ways to build. Drag-and-drop for simple sites, and Agentic mode in the same plan when a project needs logins, databases or code.
- Low-friction trial. Hostinger offers a 14-day free trial of the drag-and-drop builder, and its AI Builder pricing page says you can try the product with no credit card required.
- No platform fee on sales. Hostinger advertises 0% transaction fees; your payment processor’s fees still apply.
Limitations
- Renewal jump. Premium moves from $2.99/month to $10.99/month at renewal, Unlimited from $3.99 to $16.99, Cloud Startup from $7.99 to $25.99. Prices exclude VAT.
- Limited portability. The WordPress export in Manual mode moves pages, text, images and files only. Styles, layout, the online store, integrations, forms, form submissions and SEO settings stay behind. Code export is Agentic-only, and Hostinger notes an exported project cannot be imported back to continue prompting.
- Expiry deletes the site. Hostinger’s FAQ warns that if your plan expires and isn’t renewed, “all data will be permanently deleted”.
- Refund conditions. Hostinger’s refund policy limits refunds on the AI Builder Agentic plan (formerly Horizons) to the first 30 days and to cases where fewer than 30 AI credits have been used, AI credits themselves are non-refundable, and the value of a free domain is deducted from a refund.
- Inconsistent plan pages. Template counts range from “300+” to “600+” across Hostinger’s own pages, and ecommerce is shown on some pages for Premium and on others only for Unlimited and Cloud Startup.
Pricing (as of October 2026)
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free trial | $0 for 14 days | Drag-and-drop editor, templates, AI writing and design tools, ecommerce features. A paid plan is needed to publish. |
| Premium | $2.99/month on a 48-month term ($143.52 upfront); renews at $10.99/month | Up to 3 websites, 2 mailboxes per site free for 1 year, free domain for 1 year, 250 one-time AI credits, 20 GB SSD storage, weekly backups, chatbot support. |
| Unlimited | $3.99/month on a 48-month term ($191.52 upfront); renews at $16.99/month | Unlimited websites and mailboxes (mailboxes free for 1 year), free domain for 1 year, 500 one-time AI credits, 50 GB NVMe storage, daily backups, priority support, ecommerce, Hostinger Reach email marketing. |
| Cloud Startup | $7.99/month on a 48-month term ($383.52 upfront); renews at $25.99/month | Everything in Unlimited, 1,000 one-time AI credits, 100 GB NVMe storage, daily and on-demand backups. |
All three are introductory prices: Hostinger states that “all plans are paid upfront” and that the monthly figure is the total divided by the number of months. The regular 48-month totals shown next to them are $575.52, $911.52 and $1,343.52. Prices are listed without VAT, unlimited features fall under Hostinger’s fair usage policy, and the free domain must be registered within 12 months and is not available on every TLD. Additional AI credits can be bought on any plan. Check current Hostinger AI Builder pricing

Alternatives
- Wix: a free plan, deeper SEO tooling (redirect manager, editable robots.txt, structured-data presets) and a large app ecosystem, at higher yearly prices. Our Wix vs Squarespace comparison covers it in detail.
- Squarespace: design-led templates, built-in commerce and 301 URL mappings, with monthly billing available but no free plan.
- WordPress on the same Hostinger plan: more work to set up, but your content, theme and plugins are portable to any PHP host.
- If you mainly want AI to generate the site, see our roundup of AI website builders such as Framer, Wix and 10Web.
Final verdict
Hostinger AI Builder’s Manual mode delivers a lot for the entry price: a capable visual editor, useful AI helpers, hosting, email and a domain in one plan. The trade-offs are structural rather than cosmetic. You lock in for four years to get the advertised price, renewal is several times higher, SEO controls are basic, and leaving means rebuilding the design elsewhere. For a small site that will stay small, that is often acceptable. If the project might grow, compare the long-term cost and exit options in our guide to website builders, WordPress and custom code before you commit.
FAQ
Is Hostinger Website Builder the same as Hostinger AI Builder?
Yes, in practice. Since August 2026 the drag-and-drop builder is the Manual mode of Hostinger AI Builder, and Hostinger’s drag-and-drop product page still calls it a “website builder”. Every plan gives you both Manual and Agentic modes.
Can I switch from Manual mode to Agentic mode later?
Hostinger says you can switch a Manual-mode project to Agentic mode, for example to download code. Hostinger’s own AI website builder page is inconsistent on whether you can switch mid-project, so treat this as a re-creation of the site rather than a seamless conversion, and keep the original until you have checked the result.
Do I need a separate hosting plan?
No. Hostinger says hosting is included with an AI Builder purchase, and existing Hostinger hosting customers already have AI Builder at no extra cost.
